Maloja ladies summer fashion

Feature
Warm Hearted

Stay warm and toasty on cooler days with our insulated ResedaM. jacket that combines urban styling with outdoor functionality. The polyester fabric protects against wind and rain. We’ve also fitted Primaloft® Silver 60 Eco insulation with quilted Laya hearts. The hood and button snaps give ResedaM. a modern look.

Feature
Made with Love

The heart-shaped elbow patches and typographic Laya heart graphic are two striking design elements of this classic long-sleeve shirt, characteristic of our Laya collection. ChristolaisM. is made using a BioRe® Single Jersey. From ethical production origins, to a net-zero carbon footprint during manufacture, to skin-friendly processing techniques, this organic cotton is fully traceable.

Feature
Love, Passion, Happiness

Three logos embroidered with love and care decorate our RusellasM. basic T-shirt. All three artworks relate to themes from our Laya collection. The Laya heart stands for Bhutan, the smiley face stands for our overarching theme of happiness, and the mountain biker stands for our passion for mountaineering and cycling sports.

Feature
Subtle Statement

The sleeveless MelagoM. shirt is made of organically sourced cotton, the cut is simple and clean. The lace ribbon sections on the shoulders and enamel patch give the shirt an individual look.

Feature
DENIM STAR

Stars and mountains have always been recurring design elements in our collections over the years and they’re now permanent fixtures for Maloja. For our GritliM. jeans, we have lasered fine stars onto our comfy stretch denim. The back pockets are decorated with embroidered mountain outlines. A slightly low-cut inseam and twisted side seams give GritliM. that tell-tale Maloja form. When washing, we focus on sustainability and use Eco Wash, which uses 86% less water and 55% less energy compared to conventional methods.

Feature
Happiness is a Butterfly

Over 20,000 different species of butterfly live in the Kingdom of Bhutan, home of the Laya mountain tribe. The large, tonally embroidered butterfly on our BotanicaM. shirt is inspired by Ludlowi in Bhutan, who lives 2,000 to 2,200 metres up in the mountains at the foot of Mount Himalaya.

Feature
Alpine Mode

Our CuiraM. skirt combines elements of classic Alpine dress with motifs from Bhutan, all with a modern twist. The shape and details such as the lace trim and wide embroidered waistband are characteristic of Bavarian skirts, and for the pattern we use Laya hearts from our current collection. A modern variation, CuirtaM. is somewhat longer at the back.

Feature
An Everyday Affair

AquilegiaM. includes the Laya heart of our Bhutan collection all over as part of a jacquard knit and as a 3D embroidered patch on the chest. The large folds on the back and shaped hem give this crew neck sweater its own unique character.

Feature
Laya Tradition

The Laya use just 30 to 50 centimetre looms to weave their fabrics. Traditional clothing of the mountain tribe therefore always combines several different tracks of fabric. We have adopted this Laya stripe design in our own collection pieces. StriunaM. is made of multiple tracks of mixed fabric, made of hemp and organic cotton. The ankle-length culottes are waist-high and have a belt for fastening – our modern interpretation of Laya women’s traditional wrap skirts.

Feature
Pure Beauty

The embroidered lotus flowers decorating our lightweight PotentillaM. summer shorts were inspired by our trip to the Laya tribe in Bhutan. Three quarters of the population in this small kingdom are Buddhist. The lotus is one of the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhism and symbolises the passage of time. Through its purification ability, in many parts of Asia the lotus is an emblem of purity, wisdom, creativity and beauty.

Feature
Light Warm Summer Days

Natural materials have always been an essential part of our collection, and we are constantly increasing the amount of natural fibres in our products. For this light summer dress, we use a mixed fabric made of hemp and silk. This combination gives TastgettaM. a comfortable and lightweight feel. The hemp part also keeps you cool on hot days. The implied wrap look and fastened cord across the waist are stylistic elements of women’s clothing in Bhutan.

Feature
Bavarian Fare

The dirndl dress is a permanent feature of every Maloja collection. In line with our Laya theme, we have given our current model stylistic elements from the small Kingdom of Bhutan. The wide stitched belt is reminiscent of the Laya wrapped dress. The pattern was inspired by murals in Bhutan. The lace trim on the hood and pearl-like buttons, however, are quintessential features of the classic dirndl dress. Want to stay true to the style? Wear the matching SgialvaM. apron with BergamottaM. But BergamottaM. is just as nice as a summer dress.

Feature
Everyday Commute

We’ve packed every feature into RegiM. to create commuter pants for everyday city cycling. The waist has a slightly higher cut at the back, the hem width is adjustable, the side zippers provide good ventilation and reflective details make sure you’ll always be seen in the dark. Thanks to the lightweight stretch section, our cotton twill material is also elastic and perfect to wear while cycling.

Feature
Mixed Traditions

Wrapped clothing is characteristic of traditional Bhutan dress. It is the inspiration for our Tyrolean jacket, made of organic cotton with asymmetric fasteners. The broad quilted squares on the hood and arm ends hint towards the wide belts of Bhutan clothing. The thin Primaloft filling makes CigognaM. extra-warm.
